When I try to scan to a network folder, it fails with the error "Cannot find the remote server" if the network folder is specified by server name (e.g., "\\homepc\scans") but works if the network folder is specified by IP address (e.g., "\\192.168.1.123\scans"). It was working fine up until about a month ago, which coincides with the firmware update 20201021.
I've looked through all of the similar problems that have been reported and tried the various fixes (install the latest HP software, install the latest Windows updates, run the Scan Doctor tool, enable all of the SMB 1.0 features, etc.), but none fix the problem. I have network folders setup on three different PCs that were all working previously and none are working now, so the problem is on the printer side, not the PC hosting the network folder. I would happily revert to the older firmware version, but it's not available on the HP website.

I downgraded the firmware to 20200612 and the scan to network folder works correctly again. Clearly this is broken in the 20201021 version of the firmware. Apparently the 20201021 firmware also locks out non-HP toner cartridges (not my situation, but lots of people are very unhappy about this). At this point I've got my printer working correctly again and have disabled automatic firmware updates.
