Product: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M282nw
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Similarly to many other, I am spending an excessively amount hours trying to configure my ScanToFolder feature in my Mac.

 

  • Printer: Color LaserJet Pro MFP M282nw
  • OS: Catalina
  • Shared Folder created under: /Users/namelastname  (full path: SSDMacintoshHD\Users\namelastname\ScantoFolder)
  • Mac is protected by username (Name LastName; separated by space) and pwd.
  • File Sharing in Mac is on and address indicated are: NameLastnameMacBookPro.local    or    afp://XXX.XXX.X.XX

 

I have tested the connection with the following options and the result is negative:

  1. \\XXX.XXX.X.XX\ScanToFolder => The test was unsuccessful. Try again.
  2. \\NameLastnameMacBookPro.local\ScanToFolder   => Cannot find the remote server. Check server name or use IP Address to connect. Check that the remote computer is turned on.
  3. \\XXX.XXX.X.XX\users\namelastname\ScanToFolder => The test was unsuccessful. Try again.
  4. \\NameLastnameMacBookPro.local\users\namelastname\ScanToFolder => Cannot find the remote server. Check server name or use IP Address to connect. Check that the remote computer is turned on.

Before I explode, what is the correct way to write the path?
