Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As with many other folks, I can no longer "print to network".  This was working for a very long time but after some firmware upgrade it killed it.  I have the correct folder path   (in my case   //10.10.10.2/data/scanner  )  which has not changed in forever.  The authentication works and the folder properties for share are good.

So, can you lead me to a solution or accessibility to earlier firmware version so I can get this VERY USEFUL feature back up and running?

Thanks

If everything else is working the blame might like with Windows and not your device. Microsoft no longer supports SMB1 protocol for sharing data, which is likely required for your device based on the age. Your options are to force Windows 10 to accept SMB1 but turning it back on through Control Panel>Programs and Features>

Well it i a linux box (QNAP NAS) that it is trying to connect to, not a Windows unit.  And as mentioned it had worked to this NAS for a long time until an HP firmware upgrade a year or more ago.

You were right, even though it was not windows and it was a linux box, the SMB settings allowed for SMB 2 or 3 but not 1 for security reasons as is well known.  WHen the NAS was set to allow SMB 1 then save to network functioned.

This is of courae drives the question......why can't HP update the firmware to work at SMB3.
