Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I had a HP 8610 All in and setup for Scan to Synology NAS folder  (=networkdrive) was easy and working well.  When I use same setup in HP9132E I do not get a connection to NAS.  In Quickbutton  I defined activity Scan to NAS.  The MAP adress I usede was : \\Diskstation\Homes\Scannen. The log in credentials was  "username" and  "xxxxxxxxxxxx"  (I dont show here but you can assure its correct). "Windows domain"  was kept empty(actually dont know what it is). When trying the link by the test available  the link could not be established.   Scan to Computer (with HP smart) and Scan to email was succesfully setup.   BUT easiest still would be a direct scan to NAS.  Is there any idea-hint what I am doing wrong here?

FOUND IT !!!!

In the NAS the network SMB protocol was set to SMB1 ONLY while Printer enabled SMB2/SMB3 only.  I changed the setting in NAS to the range of SMB1 untill SMB3  and a the connection was without a problem.  Off course HP8610 was an old printer and only working with SMB1 protocol. That explained why it was working on the old printer.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Ideas

Recheck the permissions on the NAS folder -

Make sure the "Shared" data folder is in group Everyone

If everything checks out and nothing is helping,

Consider logging into the NAS (as admin) >>

Move the shared folder into another group and then back into group Everyone.

True - this should not be necessary.

While you are logged into the NAS, make sure its firmware is updated.

Outdated firmware can tangle access that should be working...

In the network folder path, use the NAS IP address instead of the system name.

The example is for OneDrive - the Quick Sets basics are similar to creating the NAS profile.

EWS_9135_Network_Network_Security_SMB_1EWS_9135_Network_Network_Security_SMB_1

A whole different kettle of fish...

If you have tightened the security further in section Security > Access Control,  recheck those settings and adjustments to ensure you still have access where expected.

NOTE:

Do not adjust any settings in this section without forethought and planning.

What?

It's easy to make things much worse than simple NAS shared folder access not working as you like.

Thanks a lot already !!.  Apreciate. I tried a few items descibed (like using my NAS IP xxx.yyy.zzz.ab instead DISKSTATION) and checked the Scannen folder settings on my NAS:   All (Owner - Groups - Others) have all rights  for read-write - use. See below.  However I have not MADE a group in NAS specifically named "Everyone"  and assigned all members to this group. Is this something needed?: if so I will try tonight.  Also when I check (INFO) this folder Scannen with my MAC FINDER ,  I see the group "Everyone" as "No R-W access"  but I cant change this there even I am the admin.  Strange thing is that HP8610 All in linking to the SAME folder with same settings have no  access problem at all.

Accces authority on my NAS for folder Scannen

You are welcome.

The "everyone" permission / group setting is something I believe to be universal in NAS -

That is, "Everyone" is not a "new" group, the Everyone group is native to the NAS file system.

Whether or not the group is used is a decision of the NAS administrator.

The group might be used with a folder / destination for which you want Read / Write permission for all users.

If the users logging into the NAS -- or signed into the NAS as part of a mapping / mounting operating to attach the NAS folder(s) to the user's local File System (Mac / Linux / Windows) -- then the user's sign-in includes that user's permissions when accessing data (folders) on the NAS.

DragonFur_1-1721830391107.png

Destination folders should be shared, perhaps as part of a folder (directory) higher in the hierarchy.

If the setup on your NAS worked before, then there is likely no reason to change anything on the NAS side from what it was before.

So, No - I am not suggesting you create something in the NAS that is not part of its normal operation.

Said another way --

If the scan folder (destination) on the NAS is not already in the NAS group Everyone, do not change it.

Assuming your user has full read / write access to the destination and the printer can identify the destination, then it should work as it has done in the past.

So - I don't have an answer that makes sense in the context of your Scan to Folder setup on the printer.

?

If I come across anything in my notes that helps explain what might be happening, I will post back.

Hi,

unfortunately no matter I do,  Scan to Networkfolfer (Synology NAS DS916+) is not working.  Assigned folder Scannen have all R-W activated in the NAS and I login with the admin rights.  Still connection is not possible.  I tried all options without success.  I am wondering if this Printer 9132e is even supporting the scan to NAS.  In our home, we dont have Windows computers, only NAS and MAC. So I cant try other options.  Also Scan to MAC directly seems not supported like in windows accept via the HP Smart app (which is working). So we now we work with Scan to email / Scan via HP Smart app.  Later I will also try set-up Scan to OneDrive directly.

Any advice for certain other setting - trial is welcome.

Excellent!

EWS > Printer Network > Network Security > SMB

Illustration in first post

The default setup does not include SMB1 -

The setting is considered obsolete.

Good catch !

Happy Scanning.
