Hi @PSI-,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I don't have specific details on future product development or software releases from HP, including any planned software updates for Windows 11 ARM64 PCs. However, HP continually evaluates its software and driver offerings to ensure compatibility across a range of devices and operating systems.

  • Full HP Scan‑to‑PC software for Windows 11 ARM64 is not yet available. Our public “emerging issue” notice confirms that current HP Scan packages do not support Windows 11 version 24H2 on ARM64 systems. We do plan to release an updated HP Scan solution for ARM64 in the future, but we have not announced a date yet.
  • Some advanced HP Smart features and classic PC‑fax/scan tools are limited on ARM at this time. Community threads reflect the same reality you’re seeing: printing can work via inbox drivers, while scan/fax software is currently constrained on ARM64.
  • As added context: Microsoft’s Windows Fax & Scan component is not available on Windows 11 ARM devices, which removes a fallback many people relied on.

What you can do right now (HP‑supported workarounds)

While we prepare the ARM64‑compatible HP Scan software, these paths restore day‑to‑day scanning with minimal friction:

  1. Windows “Scan” app (from Microsoft Store).
This is our recommended temporary solution in the official notice for ARM64/24H2. It supports basic flatbed/ADF scanning and saves to PDF/JPG while we finalize HP Scan for ARM.

  2. WebScan via the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Most HP MFPs (OfficeJet/ENVY/Smart Tank/LaserJet MFP families) expose WebScan in the EWS, open a browser to the printer’s IP address, select Scan, and capture directly to your PC without installing extra software. Community guidance points to WebScan as a reliable interim path on ARM.

  3. Scan‑to‑USB (front USB port) and Scan‑to‑Email (on supported models).
These routes bypass the PC software entirely and are often the quickest way to keep moving on time‑sensitive tasks.

Tip: If you don’t know your printer’s IP address for WebScan, print a Network Configuration or Information report from the control panel, then enter that IP in your browser. (Most HP MFPs support this flow.)

What to expect next

  • Planned update: We’ve publicly stated we plan to release an updated HP Scan package that supports Windows 11 ARM64 (24H2 and beyond). When that becomes available, we’ll publish it on the corresponding printer support pages and surface it through HP Smart where applicable.
  • Why timing matters: ARM PCs are accelerating, and we want your HP print/scan experience to feel seamless. Until then, the above workarounds are the most dependable way to keep scanning and sharing.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thank you for the suggestion. I have downloaded the software to my OneDrive. Unfortunately, my brand new ARM PC developed a short within the first 12 hours of use and is on its way back to the manufacturer for warrantee repair. It will probably be a couple weeks before I can check out the software. I will try to remember to post back once I do.
