Product: MFP M479Fdn
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is the M479dfn able to scan to the local PC (attached via USB ) and not use the network connection ?  I can temporarily connect it to a laptop if I need to access the admin website page, but have had no luck with basic drivers allowing access to scan to local PC via USB.  Is a network connection manditory for scanning w/ these devices?  Any ideas ?

HP Recommended

You can scan to PC using an only USB connection, no need for a network. You will need to install a full software driver pack.

 

There is a much faster way, there is a USB port under control panel of the printer, insert your USB drive and scan document directly from printer to USB drive without a computer. Remove USB drive insert on your computer and you will have your scanned documents.
