Hello,
when I scan to PC:
JPG --> I get file names Scan50001, -0002, -0003
PDF --> I get file names Aug_ssn_GPunto_lug20140001, -0002, -0003
The red prefix is the name of the first scanning to PDF I've done, which is repeating anytime.
Is there a way to change it?
Thx alot

Hi,
You can change but it will keep until your change as prefix or you have to name them one by one later. To change the prefix, please try from your computer,
- Click printer icon on desktop,
- Click Scan a Document or Photo,
- Click Advanced Settings (near bottom, right side),
- Click Destination tab,
- Change Base File name,
- Click Ok
(Same for each type).
Regards.

Hi Banhien,
I had to re-install the HP Assistant SW, because I hadn't it any more on my PC... so I couldn't find where to click.
Maybe it had been erased or disabled when installing Win8.1.
Everything's working, now.
Many thanks for your clear explanation!

You and me both. I just got one of these HP 8610 and confirmed with their tech people that it does NOT support such sequential filenaming. I just retired a HP 6500 that was about 8 years old or so and it could do it. Good grief.

I got one too and it is unbelievable that my 8 year old HP that just died handles sequential file names and a new printer with supposedly better technology does not.
Every time the propellerheads are allowed to play with the software code they arbitrarily change features the customers actually want. This is what happens when we let children play, they have no idea what the real world wants.
I just gave it away to a nephew and went out and bought a different brand, I have a business to run and do not have time for this game of perpetually changing things to accomodate some kid in basement. All future printers will also be of a different brand.
