I understand your HP Smart Tank 795 printer is printing fine but the “Scan to Computer” option on the control panel is disabled. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

    a. Check HP Smart Installation
        • Ensure HP Smart is installed on the computer you want to scan to.
        • Make sure the computer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.

    b. Enable Scan to Computer
        • Open HP Smart on your PC.
        • Go to Printer Settings > Scan to Computer (or similar).
        • Ensure Scan to Computer is enabled.

    c. Restart Printer and Computer
        • Power off the printer, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
        • Restart the computer.
        • Check if the Scan to Computer option is now available on the printer control panel.

    d. Firewall / Antivirus Settings
        • Ensure your firewall or antivirus is not blocking the printer software or HP Smart.
        • Temporarily disable firewall/antivirus and test Scan to Computer.

    e. Update HP Smart / Printer Firmware
        • In HP Smart, check for printer firmware updates and apply any available updates.
        • Ensure HP Smart is the latest version.

    f. Reinstall HP Smart if Needed
        • If the issue persists, uninstall HP Smart, restart the computer, and reinstall it.
        • During setup, make sure the printer is detected and Scan to Computer is enabled.

    g. Test Scan
        • After following these steps, try scanning from the printer’s control panel.
        • The Scan to Computer option should now be active and selectable.

I hope this helps.
