Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

When I press Scan button on the touchscreen, there is no Scan to Computer option (the only options are Scan to USB Drive, Scan to Network Folder, and Scan to E-mail). I can still scan using the HP Scan app from PC but having to set up the paper and coming back to PC to start the scan then going back to the printer to pick up the original is very cumbersome. How do I enable this on the printer so I can just do it all at the machine?

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that you are unable to scan to the computer, follow these steps to fix the issue.

Enable scan to computer

  1. Search Windows for your printer model name, and click the printer name in the list of results. HP Printer Assistant opens.
  2. Click Scanner Actions, and then click Manage Scan to Computer.
  3. Click Enable to activate the scan to computer option.

I don't have the HP Printer Assistant installed in my PC nor can I find it on HP support website.

Where can I get this? I have HP Scan and HP Smart installed.
