Scan to computer issues HP 9020

Was really happy with my old HP7740 printer but had to leave it behind and bought a 9020 to replace it on the basis that the feature description said that it had "scan to computer".

It arrived yesterday and since then I have found that not only does does it not have this feature (for mac os at least), it is also not recognised by the HP utility. Found two threads with workarounds but cannot get the scan to network folder to work - just keep getting wrong credentials error nor the scan to email where I get a network error message.

This feature worked so well on my other unit and was a big factor in buying this one - both work arounds are not ideal but I could live with them if they worked - however for me they don't seem to.

Anybody have other ideas that might make this work or will HP ever just issue a proper driver for this printer?

Please help as it is driving me nuts...

Just thought that I would post an answer to this question as manged to get scan to netwrok folder working after a really good whatapp chat with HP support.

In addition to the workaround in this Take a look at this document.

Since the 9020 has no apple driver and is run via airprint, just be sure to use Airprint instead of the Secure Airprint which aple tries to default to as that is what was blocking the set up...

Apart from having to set up a folder on each computer using the scanner as we have no central network it works as easily as scan to computer would have if it was avaialble for mac on this model.
