I can print and copy on my printer. However I cannot scan. It says scan to computer is currently unavailable. I have tried everything, went through a virtual support agent and downloaded HP print and scan doctor. My printer is online and connected. I simply want scan a document to my computer but it won't work. Please help.

I have HP Photosmart 6520 printer, scan, copy. I recently updated the OS on my iMac from El Capitan to OS High Sierra v. 10.13 6. I lost my scan capability on the printer. I keep getting a connection error message on the printer, although everything is properly connected. Print and copy functions remain ok. Is the printer incompatible with the new OS? Is there a remedy?
