Example: All-in-one 4620
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

As I found out there is no option for scan-to-e-mail with this device. Are there any other possibilities to get this option?

Hi @Heidi31,

I'd like to help!

The scan to email feature is not included on the HP OfficeJet 4620 All-in-One Printer.

However, you can use the scan to email option through the installed printer software on your computer.

Follow the steps in the document to setup scan to email-Set up Scan to Email through the product's Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Note: The product in the document might be different but the steps remain the same.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Dear Jay

Thanks a lot for your reply. Unfortunately it didn't work for Officejet 4620 e-All-in-One Series as there is only the option "Webscan" when I set up the printer via Webbrowser.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

Best wishes

Heidi

Use the setup tool in HP Printer Assistant to configure Scan to Email.

  1. Make sure the printer is connected to the same network as the computer.

  2. Gather the following information:

    • SMTP port server name

    • SMTP port number

    • SMTP server authentication requirements for outgoing email messages, including the username and password

  3. In Windows, search for your printer name, and then open the software in the search results to open HP Printer Assistant.

If you only have the HP Smart app, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, search for your printer model, and then download HP Easy Start in the Software - Utility section.

  4. Click Scan, and then click Scan to E-mail Wizard.

  5. In the Outgoing Email Profiles window, click New.

  6. Type your email address and a display name, and then click Next.

    NOTE:

If you want to restrict scanning to your email from this printer, add a PIN.

  7. Type the SMTP server name and port number.

    NOTE:

If you are using a hosted SMTP service such as **bleep**, verify the SMTP address, port number, and SSL settings from the service provider's website or other sources.

  8. If you are using **bleep**, select the Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS) check box.

  9. Select a maximum email size.

  10. If the SMTP server requires authentication to send an email, select the Email Log-in Authentication check box, type the credentials, and then click Next.

  11. To automatically copy the sender on email messages, select Include sender in all email messages sent out successfully from the printer, and then click Next.

  12. Verify that all settings are correct, and then click Save and Test.

  13. Click Finish to complete the configuration.

Scan to Email

Scan a document or photo to your email inbox using the shortcut on the printer control panel.

  1. Place your document on the scanner glass or load it into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

  2. On the printer control panel, touch Scan, and then touch Email.

  3. Select the sender profile that you want to use, and then type the PIN, if prompted.

  4. Type an email recipient manually or touch the Address Book icon  to select one or more saved contacts, and then add a subject.

Typing an email recipient or touching the Address Book icon

  5. To preview the scan, touch the Preview icon .

  6. To change scan settings, touch the Settings icon .

  7. Touch Send to send the scan.

Hope this helps!
