Scan to eMail without PC

Hi all,

I bought a HP 6950 because I've got the information from the distributor that this type of printer/scanner can scan directly, without a PC, to a certain eMail address (no HP eMail). But it seems not...

In the configuration there is no possibility to enter all the data for email-access as I'm used to, for example from my Canon Scanner.
Can anybody help me?

Hi,

The printer can only scan to a computer or to email through a PC with an MS Outlook email client software configured, it cannot scan directly to email independently, or you may scan to email from a mobile device using the HP Smart app.

Select printers with a full color touch screen supports direct scanning to email through a network connection, not an Officejet 6950 printer.

You are perhaps referring to Digital Send > Scan to Email that supports SMTP.

If this is your context / question...

Digital Sending / SMTP supports configuring Scan to Email right on the printer.

The low-to-mid-range-Non-Pro OfficeJet 6950 printer does not do that; you need software to use Scan to Email.

You need a different printer, a (more robust) "Pro" model
