Hello,

I'm trying to set up scan to email with a valid Office 365 account. I'm getting this error:

The printer is unable to validate the server’s security certificate because the certificate is either self-signed or has been issued by an unknown authority. To enable the printer to validate the certificate, import trusted CA (Certificate Authority) certificates into the printer.

To import the certificate, go to the Certificates page, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

I can't find much online about this in relation with Office 365, where can I get that cert at to import it?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

When you set scan to email profile for your printer, you have a checkmark to request server's scertificate option... uncheck that box and perform the test again, then check for any difference.

The Certificate request option is more intended for organizations self SMTP srvers, not for public servers such as Hotmail or Gmail..

This gave me a different error that said the SMTP server was busy, but that was fixed by matching the "From" address to my login. Thank you for your help and explanation!
