We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Cannot scan to email. Receiving an error message "The server's security certificate cannot be validated" on  the printer screen.

Settings:

SMTP: smtp.gmail.com

SMTP Port: 465

SSL/TSSL: Checked

Validate server certificate: unchecked

Sever authentication: email & password (set up app specific password in Google security)

IPv4 config:

Manual IP:

Address: xxx.xxx.x.xxx

Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: xxx.xxx.x.x (FIOS router)

Manual DNS:

Primary 8.8.8.8.

Secondary: 8.8.4.4.

The setup test works but I continue to get the error message on the printer screen "The server's security certificate cannot be validated"

One of the employees at a client started getting the message about 3 days ago.  🤔 Fine till then.  Checked everything I possibly could.  Updated Windows 10 to Version 2004, updated firmware on printer - Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw - uninstalled printer software and reinstalled.  Reset the printer to factory default, etc., etc.  I even checked the certificate to see if it was out of date.  Nope. Well, nothing worked. 😡 I can scan to email and send using the Scan app on the computer.  When I click on the icon, it works fine.  So all is not lost.  👏 So I know it has something to do with the printer.  Not an urgent fix but if someone has a solution, would love to hear it.  In the meantime, I will piddle around with it.  Thank you. 😊
