I set up scan-to-email using email profile.
my email profile is as follows:
hotmail email address
smtp server smtp-mail.outlook.com
smtp port: 587
username/password
I could not specify SMTP encryption "STARTTLS" and authentication method "OAuth2/Modern Auth"
Q. when can smart tank 7605 support the above modern authentication method?

Hi @Kkst ,
Thanks for sharing the details.
I understand how frustrating it must be to have your scan-to-email functionality fail, especially when modern authentication methods like OAuth2 are not yet supported.
here are some steps you can take to work around this limitation or explore alternatives:
1. Check for Firmware Updates
- Visit the HP Support website and check if a firmware update is available for your Smart Tank 7605 printer. Some updates may add support for newer authentication methods or improve compatibility.
2. Use an App or Software-Based Scan to Email
- Instead of using the printer's built-in scan-to-email feature, scan your documents using the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device and then attach the scanned files to an email manually.
3. Create an App-Specific Password
- For services like Hotmail, if OAuth2 isn't supported, you can generate an app-specific password for your printer from your Microsoft account settings and use it instead of your main password.
4. Try a Different SMTP Provider
- Some SMTP servers, such as Gmail or Yahoo Mail, may work without OAuth2 by enabling "less secure app access" in their settings. Use this temporarily while looking for a permanent solution.
If none of these solutions work for your requirements, you may want to reach out to our HP phone support for more options.
Keep me posted for further assistance
