Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Hi,

The scan to email function is no longer working on my HP Colour Laserjet MFP M477fnw I keep getting th error message below:

Username or password is incorrect. Ensure both user account and password are valid.

I've gone on the the HP Smart app and HP  online service and tried to ensure my username and password is correct and checked against the SMTP details too but I still get the error message even though I'm adding the correct login and username details.

Please advise what else I can try to fix the issue, it is very frustrating.

Thanks in advance.

Alka

Welcome to the HP Community --

HP Smart cannot correct an issue in your SMTP Scan to Email Profile.

HP Smart, can - when things are working as expected - open HP Smart > Printer Settings > Advanced

"Advanced" actually opens the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

General Example - HP Smart - Windows - Menu / Printer Settings

HP_Smart_Mobile_Printer_Settings_5HP_Smart_Mobile_Printer_Settings_5

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) as described in the user manual.

One Idea - All else having been checked and cleared...

If your App Password is no longer working as a means to secure the email account login,

If not tried,

Consider

Go to your Email Account

Open the Security section

Switch off 2FA (removes all App Passwords)

Wait a minute

Switch on 2FA

Create a new App Password for your email

Open EWS > Edit your Scan to Email Profile

Replace the old App Password you'd used before with the newly created App Password

Finish the Scan to Email Profile edits > Save and Test.

What if?

If you have more than just the one App Password in your Email account security and wish to avoid shutting off 2FA, you could try deleting and replacing (creating new) just the one App Password you are using with your Scan to Email Profile.  Might work.

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Scan > Scan to Email

General Example - Different Printer - EWS - Scan to Email (SMTP Profile)

EWS_9025_Scan_to_Email_Setup_8EWS_9025_Scan_to_Email_Setup_8
