Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Hi I’m wondering if anyone can help me, my printer used to scan to my personal email but I think I may have clicked something and now the printer no longer has it’s own email and just says ‘cancelling’ when I try to scan to my email.

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there is an issue with "Scan to Email". 

 

Don't worry I'm here to help. To better assist you - What's the operating system installed on the computer? 


In the meantime, please try setting up the "Scan to Email" again. Please refer to page# 44 from the user manual.

I understand you have scan to email issues using your iPhone\iPad.
 
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
 
Did you make any changes to your printer?

 

Are your iPhone and the printer connected to the same network?

 

Have you tried scanning using a different application?

 

Try updating your IOS devices to the latest version.

 

Try updating the email address and password in EWS page.
 

  1. Place the item you want to scan on the scanner glass or in the automatic document feeder (ADF) tray.

  2. Tap a Scan tile.

    Examples of HP Smart app Scan tiles

    NOTE: 

    On iOS devices, make sure Scanner is the scan type selected on the scan screen.

  3. Tap the Settings icon  to select the input source, color or black and white, and resolution.

  4. Tap Scan.

  5. For multi-page scans, tap the Add Pages icon , and then repeat these steps with another item.

If the issue still persists try the steps recommended below.

 

Please try the steps mentioned below.
 
1. Select Web Services on the front panel., then Settings.
2. Select 'remove web services' and wait for the services to be eliminated.
3. Once this is complete, you will return to the home page.
4. Select the Web Services icon on the printer and go through the steps to setup Web Services once again.
5. You will be provided a more recent code. Later on, you can utilize this code to add the printer to your eprintcenter.com/ hpconnected.com account utilizing this code.
6. You may or may not be required to create a different email address.
7. Try another scan to email utilizing the app.
