I have several Windows 7 computers that are not password protected and I successfully set up scanning to folders on those computers from a Laser Jet Pro 400 MFP M425dn. Those folders are shared for the user "Everyone" read and write. HOWEVER when I added a later model MFP to the network, the M426fdn, and tried to use those same folders to scan to, I get the message "the test was unsuccessful". What is different about this model MFP?

Hi,
HP Laserjet Printers will fail accessing a folder with a non-password protected user, the user must be password protected for the pritner to connect.
Either set a pasword for your user or create an additional user account with a password and use that user cradential for accessing the shared folder.
Note that you may need to logging in the newly created user once so it will be fully created prior the printer will be able to access using that user.
