Hello,
I hope someone may be able to help with a problem regarding my HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw printer. I have been using this printer since 2018 without any problems. M477 is connected via WiFi to my home network. Also i have a network storage Netgear stora MS2000 with smb folder. My computer and other devices can easily access to this smb folder.
Before this day M477 succesfully scaned to this network folder. Today without any reason i've tried to scan a document to network folder and recieved a "service error 79".
I have tried and observed the following:
- I accessed the printer via its IP address, deleted the existing network folder and did a new setup. The test connection is not completed and the printer got "service error 79" and rebooted.
- Printing documents is working fine.
- Scanning to computer works without problem.
- The problems occurs with both the flatbed scanner and document feeder
- I have updated the firmware to latest version "20201022"
- I have changed the printer's cable and the power outlet.
- The error occurs even during testing the connection to the network folder without scanning.
From other discussions here it seems this may be a firmware issue? If so, is there a way to get the fixing firmware (maybe even downgrade it?
If anyone has any advice, I would be very grateful. Thank you!
