Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We had a HP LaserJet MFP M426fdn set up as a network printer with a scan to network folder which worked.

We replaced it with a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdn.

The print and scan to email works on the 479.

Using the web interface when we set up the scan to network folder using the quick set we get the following error.
'Network error. Check the printer's network connection and try again.'
The path has read/write access. Same path the was used on the 426.

We have the 'Always use the following credentials' checked (they are right, if we use something invalid it comes back with an authorization error).

If try an invalid folder we get the following error
'Invalid shared folder. Check your network path and try again.'

Not using a pin.

SNMPv1/v2 - Enable SNMPv1/v2 Read-Write access

SMB - all checked
SMB v1 / CIFS
SMB v2
SMB v3

Any suggestions?

Are you using the IP address or a UNC for the folder path? Check the DNS settings on the printer to confirm and also try changing the path by using the IP address of the destination instead of hostname:

ie

\\computer1\scanlocation

change to

\\192.168.5.5\scanlocation  (substitute the correct IP address for 192.168.5.5 in the example)

UNC. No ip for the network drive.

DNS is set.

IP 4 only.

DNSv4
Configured By Manual
Preferred DNS Address - set
Alternate DNS Address - set

WINS - disabled

DNSv6
Configured By - Unconfigured

Did find the ip for the network drive and tried that but still same error.
