Scan to objects to actual size –

HP Recommended
OFFICE JET 7510
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi trying to scan an object – silver piece – to my iMac with its actual size reflected on the scan output PDF. Current scan settings: document preset / colour output / a4 / scanner glass source / 75-300 dpi resolution variations / low compression.

 

75 dpi comes out very close to piece displayed using Adobe acrobat PDF viewer on an actual size view setting. 300 dpi has a ~5mm difference in size.

 

Who can help me get an accurate scan output?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "scan an object- accurate size" issue. 

 

Are you scanning from HP Easy Scan or Image capture?

Hi Jay_G24,

Your help would be appreciated! Scanning using HP Easy Scan. How do i proceed? 

PS.  The how to scan document had generic i formation - no pointers to scan an object and output a PDF reflecting actual size.

Update the printer firmware

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Printer maintenance > Update the printer

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click here to know how.

 

Check the settings on the HP Easy Scan app using this document.

 

If the issue persists, try scanning using the Apple Image Capture app.
