After Installing the latest update there appears no Image (file, pdf)

I understand you’re using an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28, and after installing the latest update, the scanner runs but no image or PDF appears. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the HP Smart app
– Close the app completely and reopen it.
– Sometimes the update causes a temporary glitch that clears after a restart.

Check the scan destination folder
– Open HP Smart > Scan > select the Scan Settings.
– Confirm the “Save To” folder hasn’t changed or become invalid after the update.

Run a scan using Windows Fax and Scan
– Search for “Windows Fax and Scan” on your PC.
– Try scanning from there to see if the issue is with the app or the scanner.

Reinstall the HP M28 drivers
– Remove the printer from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
– Restart your PC and reinstall the printer through HP Smart to refresh the scan driver.

Update the HP Scan Extended driver (if available)
– Open HP Smart > Settings > Advanced Options.
– Check if it prompts for additional scanner components and install them.

Try a different file format
– In the Scan window, change the output to JPEG or PNG and test.
– This helps confirm if the issue is only with PDF generation.

Reset the printer
– Turn the M28 off, unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in, and power on.
– Retry scanning after it reconnects.a
