HP Officejet 4634
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

My scanner doesn't scan straight. To be clear, I'm talking only about the scanner, when I need to print something off my computer it works fine but for some reason the scanner doesn't scan straight.

I've tried to do the alignement multiple times but doesn't seem to have fixed it.

Any help?

Thanks,

Jessie

@Jessie3355,

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers to your technical queries.

I understand that your HP Officejet 4634 printer has a scan quality issue and the printing is fine.

I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

  • Are you scanning from the ADF (document feeder) or the scanner glass bed?
  • Is the printer able to make a photocopy correctly from the ADF and also the scanner bed?

Meanwhile, you may attempt the following troubleshooting steps to isolate and fix the issue.

  • I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(2) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(3) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(4) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(5) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(6) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

This document should help to resolve the scan quality issue.

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes.

Eager to help!

Hello Raj,

Thanks for your help.

I have performed a hard reset, printed the alignement page but problem remains, either from ADF or scanner bed.

I have tried a photocopy from both ADF and scanner bed and I have the same issue.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Jessie
