I am sorry to hear that you are trying to scan at 48-bit color depth on your HP ScanJet Pro 2600 f1 using a Mac and are encountering issues, I would request you to please follow the steps:

 

Update HP Drivers

  • Go to HP’s support page for ScanJet Pro 2600 f1 and download the latest macOS driver package.
  • Install and restart — sometimes newer builds expose more scan options.

Check HP Easy Scan / HP Smart

  • If you’re using macOS’s built‑in Image Capture, switch to HP Easy Scan or HP Smart.
  • These apps sometimes expose more resolution and color depth options than the default macOS driver.

Scan Settings Adjustment

  • Open HP Easy Scan: Launch the HP Easy Scan application from your applications folder.
  • Access Advanced Settings: Navigate to the advanced options or settings within the scanning software.
  • Color Depth Setting: Ensure that the color depth is set to 48-bit. 
  • If this option isn’t visible, it may be due to limitations in the software or driver compatibility with MacOS.

Check macOS Compatibility:

  • Make sure your operating system version is compatible with the scanner's drivers.
