HP ScanJet Pro 3600 f1
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi Our ScanJet Pro 3600 f1 is not starting the scanning process when you press the diamond (scan) button.

This worked fins on our old Windows 10 pc but since we connected this to Windows 11 the diamond scan button does not work.

We have installed HP Scan Ver:63.4.0 and this works fine.

We have also checked for latest software and firmware updates on 5th March 2025 and are using the latest of both.

Looking under control panel we have these HP applications installed:

  1. HP EmailsSMTP Plugin                     56.0.480.0
  2. HP OCR                                                 1.0.1020.0
  3. HP Scan Basic Device Software      63.4.6169.24240
  4. HP SFTP Plugin                                   56.0.480.0
  5. HP SharePoint Plugin                        56.0.480.0

We have checked the manual and it states on Page 5 that the Diamond button is the "Scan Button".

Please can you get back to us to let us know what we can do to resolve this issue?

It could be a driver or compatibility issue with Windows 11. Try reinstalling the HP software, updating drivers, and checking HP Scan settings to assign the button function. Also, test with HP Print and Scan Doctor. If the issue persists, HP support might have a fix.
