I have a scanjet 5590 with TMA. It scans perfect from the flatbed but with the TMA I get an error 22 on the scanner. I have used both Hp scansoftware as well as VueScan. Used windows 10 and Windows 7. Replaced the printer cables, used a short one as well as via USB hub. I've performed a hardware test on the TMA, all good. What can be the issue here? Any suggestions?

try this "Initialization Error 22" 

 

Info:
If you need to use a USB hub, please use an active hub (with its own power supply).
