I have previously posted about this, finding that when I upgraded to Windows 11 the scanner was not found, even with the latest HP drivers, and could only be "seen" by Win 11 by stopping and restarting the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service every time, which was tedious. On the strength of this I downgraded back to Window 10 , which I am still using.
I would now like to ask: has anybody succeeded in using this scanner under Windows 11 without the problem I have described, or is it irredeemably unusable under Windows 11? I just want to know whether it is worth having another go.

I realise it's not good form to respond to one's own posts but I can say that I decided to bite the bullet. I upgraded for the third time to the latest version of Windows 11 this morning, making sure I was using the most recent HP scanner driver package, and so far all is well. To try to be sure I have restarted the PC several times; as yet no recurrence of the issues I have previously reported.
Because of the problems previously encountered I will want to keep testing it over the next few days before declaring myself completely satisfied but the signs are good. Relief.
