HP ScanJet Pro 2600 f1

A few months ago, I learned of a way that I could send a scanned document from the Scanjet Pro 2600 f1 to the Officejet Pro 8210 using the HP scanning software.  I created a shortcut in the Scanning App.  I no longer have the short cut and do not know what I need to do to re-create the shortcut.  Also, the "Send to Cloud" button on front of the scanner does not work - the error is "Shortcut has been removed."  I am using the latest version of the Scanning Software: 63.4.6169, which I just re-installed today.

Hi @Aggravateduser,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to set up the "Scan to Printer" shortcut again on your HP ScanJet Pro 2600 f1 and resolve the "Send to Cloud" button error, follow these steps:

1. Recreate the "Scan to Printer" Shortcut

  • Open the HP Scan software on your computer.
  • Go to Create New Shortcut or Manage Shortcuts (the exact wording may vary).
  • In the list of available actions, select an option like Print or Send to Printer if available. If not, you may need to select a more general Scan to File option and specify your OfficeJet Pro 8210 as the destination in the printer options.
  • Customize the shortcut’s settings (such as resolution, color, and document type).
  • Save this shortcut with a name like "Scan to Printer" for easier identification.

2. Fix the "Send to Cloud" Button Error

  • On the HP ScanJet Pro 2600 f1, the "Send to Cloud" button may show this error if the cloud shortcut was deleted or altered.
  • In the HP Scan software, create a new shortcut specifically for cloud services (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive) and save it.
  • Assign this newly created shortcut to the “Send to Cloud” button on your scanner by accessing the settings in the HP Scan software, or directly from the scanner’s control panel if it allows shortcut assignment.

3. Ensure Software and Firmware Are Updated Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Double-check that both the HP Scan software and the firmware of your HP ScanJet Pro 2600 f1 are fully up-to-date. Sometimes, missing features or buttons can be restored with a firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the suggestions.  By sheer luck, the issue is fixed before I could try your suggestions.  I deleted all scanner software and installed the original version of the software downloaded in February 2024.  I then updated the original version with the latest version downloaded on November 7.  Everything is functioning again.  I have the "Send to Printer" Shortcut and the "Send to Cloud" shortcut and functionality on the scanner.

Hi@Aggravateduser,

I'm glad to hear your scanner is working again! Reverting to the original software and then updating seems to have restored the full functionality, including your shortcuts. Feel free to reach out if you have any further issues or need help. Happy scanning!
