I can't get the buttons on the Scanjet 2600 to do anything. Aren't they supposed to?

I understand that you are facing issues with the Buttons on your HP ScanJet Pro 2600 f1. I would request you to please confirm if you are able to press the buttons , is it hard while pressing or is there is no functions while pressing the button?
