Both scanners scan to my computer with a light blue hue background.  How can I scan so the docs come out with a white background like the original?

@Jean_K,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

What is the exact model for your printer?

Are you facing the same issue when you make a copy?

Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Cheers!

Hi -

My printer is an HP Office Jet Pro 8710.  Making copies are fine.  But when I scan a document to my computer, it comes out with a light blue hue in the background when the original has a plain white background.

However, I don't think it's the printer.  When I scan to the other scanner/printer in the office (a Brothers copy, fax, scanner, printer), I get the same problem with the blue hued background.  So it doesn't matter what scanner I use.

When I scan to my business partner's computer, the scan comes out fine.  (We have the same computer, bought at the same time, Lenovo's , Operating System is Windows 10, 64-bit.)    Therefore I think it's something to do with MY computer or a setting on it.   I compared my settings against my business partner's computer, to the best of my abilities,  they seem the same.

Any suggestions??   Thanks!

@Jean_K,

I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall it and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.
