HP LaserJer Pro MFP M127fw
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hi All

I have reformatted my Mac Mini with Big Sur 11.4  I've set up the HP LaserJer Pro MFP M127fw printer in Mac and it works fine.

Unfortunately, the HP Easy Scan does not recognize my printer/scanner no matter what I try.

I then used HP Smart and while it does recognize the printer/scanner, and in fact the scanning mechanism in the printer does actually move and scan, I then get the error message "Scanner not Found"

Interestingly, when I try Image Scanner, it too does not recognize the printer/scanner.

I did the "Reset Printer System" in Systems Preference and that made no difference also.

Any thoughts? ...... Thanks for any input to this problem. Surely, I am not the only one with this problem

Thanks

I am running on an iMac 2015, with the Big Sur operating system. I can see my HP LaserJer 100 colour MFP M175nw printer and print to it no problems, but NOTHING I do will show the Scanner part of it.

I've tried

Easy Scan

Image Capture

VueScan

Directly from the printers list - where it shows the Printer, but not the scanner.

I've installed HP Smart.

I've Reset the print system, added the HP LaserJer 100 colour MFP M175nw, but still, the scanner doesn't show up.

I really need that scanner to be working. Does it seem that the Scanner driver is no longer a part of the Printer Driver package?

As you can see from. the screen capture, the Scanner is not there.

I have spent a number of hours online searching for a solution. It would seem that there is none which is VERY ANNOYING. At this stage, I can only see that the way forward is to buy a new MFP that is of that is of the newest model and so compatible with Big Sur. The same is that the printer works fine it is only the inability to scan that is the issue.

It would be great if HP would assist with the updating of the software but that seems very unlikely.
