HP Recommended

Bought a new printer and the scanning, copying option don't work. It says:

 

Scanner Problem

Turn the printer off, and then it on again. 

If the problem persists, the scanner has become damaged and cannot copy or scan. 

For mor information, contact HP support

 

I have done the re-start but still copying or scanning. Is this fixable or is it junk?
