I am having two problems with my HP m176n laserjet pro. It keeps showing a scanner error 22. If after repeated resets the error 22 disappears, the scanner still doesn't scan. The error this time is unable to communicate with scanner. Using the HP scan and print doctor gives a WIA error. I have tried all the reset options.

Hi,
A Scanner error 22 indicate an hardware fault.
Once clearing the error, can you successfully make a copy form the device?
If you cannot make a copy, the WIA error is not related with the problem at all but the scanner is non functional.
If you are able to make a copy, check the following on your PC:
From Windows Explorer, right click 'This PC' and select Manage.
Select Services and Applications, and then select Services.
Open the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service Properties and then its Dependencies tab.
Can you see the Shell Hardware Detection service as shown below or may only the RPC Service is shown?
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.
