HP Officejet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

When trying to run copies, I get an error message that says "unable to scan, copy or fax"

If I try to scan, it says that my scanner is busy.  My copy light does not move when trying to copy.  I've looked for jams and see none.  What can I do?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Perhaps you can try Webscan to see if scanning works?  If that doesn't work as well, and since copy has issues, it's likely that the scanner is defective.

Scanning Multiple pages from Chromebook

Chromebook uses Webscan, so don;t be confused why we're using that as an example.

If you are connected via USB, then Webscan would not be applicable.

Try to Uninstall and Reinstall the Software to see if the scanner works.

If you are not sure how to do this, the following resource will walk you through the steps:

Hope that helps!
