Scanner Send to Folder Settings

I got my PC with Windows 10 x64 installet on it. Also I'm using HP LaserJet M3035, which is installed on this PC, for printing and scanning documents

On my PC i have created a shared folder "Scan" with full permissions for everyone. With printer web control panel (connecting to this panel with printer IP) in "Digital sending -> Send to folder settings -> Quick Sets" i've created a new alias name and there wrote folder path (for example //my_pc_name/scan), also wrote login and password. When I'm trying to scan some documents into my shared folder sometimes I'm getting an error code:

8 page(s)
Document Size:A4

Network Folder Destinations:
Network Folder Destinations:
\\CONSTRUCTION\scans <\\CONSTRUCTION\scans\[Untitled]_2602201812385300.pdf> (An error has occurred that will require administrator assistance.  Please use the troubleshooting feature.)
error code:  6005  error component:  0110

File format:  pdf (grayscale)
File Size: 0

I have seen some other posts with the exact same problem, but no solution

Can anyone help to fix it?

Tony, did you resolve this problem and, if so, how did you do it?  I have detailed more information about this problem in a post on this site from less than 12 hours ago, but have no solution.  I have an HP M5035x MFP on a network and am running Windows 10, 64-bit, as are you.  I appreciate any insight you may have received in the last three months.  Please advise.  Thank you.

Hi, I am experiencing same problem. Have you, maybe, already find a solution for this problem? Thanks.

Problem solved:

Previously, when the problem existed and when I wrote last, I had set up two "send to" folder locations.  In other words, I had to have two directories since the printer would randomly send the file to one or sometimes both the directories, but not all of the time for either one.  When I reduced to one "send to" folder location, or one directory, the printer would never send the file to that location.

I discovered that the problem of random success or failure was based upon the directory location!  I was using a directory that I created and simply named as "Temp" in a random location on a Samsung 1 TB portable SSD drive -- it was not the Windows temp directory for temporary files.  When I no longer used that location and simply used another -- still on the Samsung external/portable drive, the problem went away.  It had nothing to do with file sharing or any other setting or property.  I have no explanation, although there must be a rational, scientific one.

HP provided no help at all with two telephonic troubleshooting service calls and I had to find the solution.  The support was awful, but as was expected since the printer is almost eleven years old and far out of warranty.  The group assigned by HP to receive calls for this model printer is in Eastern Europe.  Thick accents, unhelpful, fairly low-end trouble-shooting people.  I ended up doing the job myself.

Please make a reply post to let the world know if this solves your problem.  To date, no one has posted any success with this problem over the last decade except for me.

Hi,

Let me try to answer your post one by one. I have only one "send to" folder, name is simply HPSCAN. And it is shared to everyone with all permisions. That was working fine (with some limitations) on Windows 7. So, this is not an isue here. On Windows 10, as I have currently, It is very hard to set up a right amont of values (for sharpnes, etc). And an output to PC is .pdf file. Which is mandatory to be. Mostly, now I am geting a .pdf file to my PC, which is unreadable. Mainly is round 500k. With a very low values of that, I was able to scan- like: pdf, file size=low, resolution below 300, darkness, sharpness, background cleanup to low, etc).

But now: I thought I would help me, if I upgrade FW of my MFP from 48.306.1 to 48.430.1. ANd also did a cold reset and NWRAM init. Now, I am having even bigger problem: I can't find "send to folder" on my "home screen" (display on printer) anymore. I can configure it from printer's web, but it is not visible on display anymore. And that is a misery for me. I tried as described on web, but no success.

If you have any sugestion, please let me know.

I trully understand your feelings about HP support. I was working in a bank, mainly setting printers all round. I learned a lot by myself, support is awful, as you mentioned. And, I am from Slovenia and you would sort me to Eastern Europe. I know some guys from support, but I think, their knowledge would stop there. I will continue to try by myself and if I will be succesfull, I'll let you know. I have another formatter board on spare, so, if anythng fails, this is my last option.

You are the only one, who even replied to me...

There is no logical explanation as to why you can view the proper setting through JetDirect (I am assuming you mean JetDirect instead of, generically, "the web") but not the printer control panel.  The JetDirect card is generating the information straight from the printer and not from a third source anywhere else.  Usually, the only reason the printer cannot see the target's file directory is because of a DHCP change assigned by a router.  That cannot be, since the JetDirect software is seeing and understanding that assigned location.  Still, you might want to check to see how the IP address for the target is being assigned, since it could be an IP address assignment problem, but it does not logically seem so.

You already updated the firmware, you said, to the August 2017 latest version, so that should have resolved any outdated firmware problem.  Mine was still using a 2011 firmware date.  Seven years is a long time, especially for all of those operating systems that came and went during that time.

As a last resort, try changing the target's file location at least twice, since, when I randomly assigned a new directory, that was the solution, which made absolutely no sense.  Perhaps, after that, try changing the computer that you are using as the target to see if there is some type of incompatibility with a local firewall setup on it of some sort that is not specific to all of the computers.  Unless you write back with more symptoms or ideas, I'm out of suggestions.  Let me know what happens as I am curious.
