Hi,

Which IP do you put?

The HP Deskjet F4280 is a USB only printer, therefore it do not have any IP address of its own...

(See Standard connectivity in here).

Scanning from a Chromebook can only be done via Webscan for network connected devices, a such cannot be done for a USB only printer such as yours...

Hey @orenite,

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are looking to print from your Chromebook. Happy to help.

Have you installed the HP Chrome app for Chrome?

Are you able to print from any other computer through wireless?

Based on the printer model mentioned in your post. the specifications of your printer say that the printer only has USB connectivity. This means the print cannot be used over a network. Hope this answered your question.

For assistance in setting up the printer to print from Chromebook which support wireless. Refer to these articles HP Printers - Using HP Print for Chrome and HP ePrint Capable Printers - Setting Up and Printing on a Chromebook

Hope this helped.

Chromebooks being  "Cloud" computer, for a long time, doesn't support any USB printer or scanner. Last year, Google did add support for some USB scanners (SANE supported devices). See this list:http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-HEWLETT-PACKARD

F4280 is not on the list, so probably not supported.

Thanks for your assitance. I checked the list too and found my printer was not on it. Too old I guess.
