Why wont my HP officejet pro 8610 not scan or email to my hp spectre computer?

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you. 
Let's get your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 working properly with your HP Spectre on Windows 11. If scanning and emailing aren't working, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check Printer Connection

Make sure your printer is properly connected to your computer or network:

  • If using USB, ensure the cable is securely connected.
  • If using Wi-Fi, confirm both the printer and computer are on the same network.
  • You can print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to verify connection status.

Step 2: Install or Update HP Software

Ensure you have the latest HP software and drivers installed:

This will install the full feature software including HP Scan and email setup tools.

 

Step 3: Use HP Smart App (Recommended for Windows 11)

HP Smart is optimized for Windows 11 and supports scanning and email features:

  1. Download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store or HP Smart
  2. Open HP Smart and add your printer.
  3. Use the Scan tile to scan documents.
  4. After scanning, you can share via email directly from the app.

Step 4: Set Up Scan to Email (Direct from Printer Panel)

If you want to scan and email directly from the printer:

  1. Access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) by typing its IP address into a browser.
  2. Go to Scan > Email Setup.
  3. Configure SMTP settings (you’ll need your email provider’s SMTP server info).
    • Example for Gmail:
      • SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
      • Port: 587
      • Requires authentication: Yes
      • Use TLS: Yes

If Issues Persist:

  • Try restarting both the printer and computer.
  • Temporarily disable firewall or antivirus software to test scanning.
  • Ensure Windows is fully updated.
