I'm trying to scan a picture to my laptop. I click picture to Tiff after the preview scan finished the scanner automatically selects several spots on the picture and makes them several pages. I just want one page.

See lower left corner of the picture

Hi @Flint_A,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your scanner might be detecting multiple regions within the picture and splitting it into separate pages. Here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve this issue:

Check Scanner Settings: Look for any settings on your scanner software or interface that might be causing it to automatically detect and split regions. There may be an option to disable this feature or adjust the scanning settings to only capture a single page.

Use Advanced Settings: If your scanner software has advanced settings or options for scanning, explore those settings to see if there are any options related to page detection or segmentation. You may be able to adjust these settings to prevent the scanner from splitting the picture into multiple pages.

Scan as Image: Instead of selecting "Picture to Tiff," try scanning the picture as a standard image file (e.g., JPEG or PNG) if your scanner software provides that option. Scanning as an image file may bypass any automatic page detection features.

Crop the Image Afterwards: If you're unable to prevent the scanner from splitting the picture into multiple pages, you can scan the entire picture and then use image editing software on your laptop to crop it down to the desired size.

Update Scanner Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers and software installed for your scanner. Sometimes, updating the drivers can resolve compatibility issues or bugs that may be causing unexpected behavior.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
