HP Color LaserJet CM3530fs Multifunction Printer

Some time ago, I bought an HP Color LaserJet CM3530 fs MFP printer. Unfortunately, the seller did not have and did not include the original driver discs. I installed the drivers from the HP website for the printer and the printer works perfectly in Windows and Linux, but I cannot scan to the computer - the computer does not see it. The feeder scanner works when copying. How to make it work with the computer? Are any drivers needed? The universal print driver does not solve the problem. My local HP service center is unable to help me. Does anyone have installation discs with drivers for the HP Color LaserJet CM3530 fs MFP printer?

To get your HP Color LaserJet CM3530fs MFP scanner working with your computer, follow these steps.

 

Download and Install the Correct Drivers

HP Website:

  • Visit the HP Support website.
  • Search for "HP Color LaserJet CM3530fs MFP".
  • Download and install the latest full-feature software and drivers specific for your printer model. This usually includes the scanning drivers and utilities.

HP Easy Start:

  • If available, download HP Easy Start from the HP Support page for your printer. This tool will automatically find the best drivers and software for your device.

Ensure Scanner is Detected

Windows:

  • Open the "Device Manager" and ensure the scanner is listed under "Imaging devices" or "Other devices".
  • If the scanner is not listed, try connecting it to another USB port or using a different USB cable.

Linux:

  • Use the scanimage -L command in the terminal to check if the scanner is detected.

Troubleshoot Scanning Issues

Restart Devices:

Check Network Settings:

  • If you are using a network connection, ensure that the printer and computer are on the same network.

Firewall and Antivirus:

  • Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software to see if it is blocking the scanner.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can fix connectivity and functionality issues.

As an enterprise model, this is designed primarily to scan to folder or scan to email. It will not scan over a usb connection. If you can locate the HP Enterprise Network Twain driver that should work as well. I have not tested this model using the HP Universal Scan Software but that may work as well, over a network connection.
