Scanjet 4370
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The scanner has been working fine for the past several years. Now, all of a sudden, it will not scan. It starts to scan then quits with an error message and a list of suggested instructions. I have tried all of the suggestions, and no luck. I know the scanner works, because I tried it on a Linux computer, and it works fine.

I thought it might be interference from the AVG anti-virus program or Zone Alarm. I temporarily disabled both of these, but that did not help. I cannot think of anything that has changed on the computer.

Hello there,

You might need to download a new scanning software, which I believe is not available through HP anymore. You can try something else such as:

https://hpprinterseries.net/hp-scanjet-4370-driver-software/

Or the source of your choice. The above link is just an example. Make sure before downloading the new or updated scanning software to completely remove the old one and then locate the device and test scanning.

Good luck
