Product: HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer

Hello! My scanner stopped working after the hp virtual assistant had me troubleshoot for my ink cartridge. First, my ink cartridge was saying error, so the virtual assistant had me unplugging the power cord without turning off the printer. After that, I got a scanner failure message on my printer! My printer is out of warranty but it was clearly the virtual assistant’s fault. Do I have any options for the scanner being fixed or am I basically on my own to buy a new printer?
