Hi,
I have a HP ENVY 4501 e-All-in-One Printer.
Recently the scanner is not scanning document and states "Scanner failure" error. The printer scanner light is also not lighting up when I try to scan using my HP Smart software.
I ran the HP scan doctor and it stated me a driver issue. Checked the drier status and also have the latest driver installed.
I also disconnected the power cord for more than 60 seconds while the printer was ON. On reconnecting I see the same issue.

Is there anything else that needs to be done to resolve this?

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

Can try a copy job?  Place a document on the scanner and Copy.  If it's not ale to copy, it's likely a scanner hardware issue (defective).
