I just moved to a new Windows11 desktop computer, and my HP 4620 is no longer recognized for scanning. It's ok for printing, but I've tried all of the HP and Windows scanning software without any luck.

Hi @jdecker125
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP Officejet 4620 is having trouble with scanning functionality on your new Windows 11 desktop.
Here are some steps to help resolve the issue:
1. Install the Latest Drivers
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP Officejet 4620.
- Ensure you select the correct operating system (Windows 11) before downloading.
- Install the drivers and restart your computer.
2. Use the HP Smart App
- Download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
- Open the app and add your printer by following the on-screen instructions.
- The app often provides scanning functionality even when other software doesn't work.
3. Check Windows Scan App
- Open the "Windows Scan" app (pre-installed on Windows 11).
- Add your printer if it’s not already listed.
- Try scanning a document to see if the app recognizes your printer.
4. Verify Printer Settings
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- On the printer's control panel, check the network settings to confirm the connection.
5. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- This tool can diagnose and fix common scanning issues.
6. Check Windows Services
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Ensure the "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" service is running. If not, right-click it, select "Start," and set it to "Automatic."
7. Update Windows
- Go to "Settings" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.
- Install any pending updates, as they might include fixes for compatibility issues.
