The scanner was working fine on my win 11 PC about a month ago and then suddenly started giving error of scanner nfound (ss attached)
I then installed the scanner on a win 10 PC and it works fine there.
I then installed it on a different Win 11 PC, same error occurs there.
I have tired reintalling driver, I have updated the firmware of the device but still the issue is not resolved
I have also tried a solution I saw on the forum👇
"Please Update the firmware on your HP printer.
Please check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service to see if it is working properly by doing the following:
- On the keyboard, press the Windows flag and the R key simultaneously. The Run window opens.
- Type services.msc and OK. The Services (local) window opens.
- Double-click on Windows Image Acquisition, then click on the Log On tab.
- Check Local System Account and Allow the service to interact with the office.
- Click on the Dependencies tab and check that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Shell Hardware Detection exist in the first window.
- Click on the General tab, and restart the service by clicking on Stop, then Start.
- Close the Services window.
- Try to scan.
If the Shell hardware detection dependency does not exist, please add it as follows:
- Simultaneously press the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
- Type regedit, then OK. The registry editor opens.
- Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Services and select StiSvc.
- In the right pane double click on Depend on service.
- You will find RpcSs, just add ShellHWDetection underneath, then click on Enter and OK.
- Close the registry editor.
- Restart the computer.
- Try to scan."
This has not resolved my issue.
In my case the Shell hardware detection dependency does not exist. So I performed the steps mentioned below but after "You will find RpcSs, just add ShellHWDetection underneath, then click on Enter and OK." this step an pop message appears 👇
Kindly help me fix this issue its been a nightmare to deal with

Hello @BARCA1899 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Here's what you need to do:
Press key combo "Windows Key + S" enter "service" > click on Service App
> change the Startup type to Automatic for the following services
- Shell Hardware Detection = ShellHWDetection
- Print Spooler = Spooler
- Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) = stisvc
then
- Disconnect scanner from computer- Disable WLAN, WiFi and/or remove the USB or LAN cable.- Do not switch off the printer >> unplug the power cord from the socket!
- Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list.
- Restart the PC
- Close all programs
- download only this complete package: HP ScanJet Pro 3000 s3 Full Feature Software and Driver
be sure to read all the information! - Close all programs
- Via USB, means wait until the installation asks to connect the scanner.
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the EXE,
File name: Full_Webpack-41.6.2420-SJ3000_U_Full_Webpack.exe (369.1 MB) - The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
- Restart the System again
- Now the installation is complete.
Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.
Kind Regards

I tried the solution didn't work.
The 3 services you mentioned were already set to automatic.
During uninstallation of the program mentioned below, it gave me error the first time but on the subsequent try it was successfully uninstalled.
And one thing I forgot to mention in the primary post, its not like that the scanner just doesnt work in the win 11 pc, it works in certain conditions.
If I turn on the scanner first and then boot up my win 11 pc then it works but as soon as I turn the scanner OFF and then ON (reboot it using the power button on the scanner).
It gives the same old error message scanner not found.
Then To get it to work it again I have I have to keep it on and reboot my pc and voila it works again.
but if bootup my pc and then turn the scanner ON it gives the same old error message scanner not found.

You should run this "perform a clean boot"
and then reinstall the HP scanner.
