No the noise is coming from the scanner like its scanning but it just keeps doing nothing. I can scan it manually by using the buttons on the printer itself but the online tool is the problem. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it keeps doin the same thing.

Which operating system is used?
The scanner has 2 options from where a document can be scanned:
1. Flatbed or
2. ADF

What is shown on the display when the scan is started with HP Smart?
