Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. My ENVY 5055 Scanner works well for weeks on my laptop. Then, suddenly (usually on a very busy day), it starts giving me a prompt to visit 123.hp.com to download software. In the past, I've unplugged and restarted and it has eventually fixed itself. I downloaded software years ago. I've tried visiting the website to download an update, but it does nothing when I click on the link to download. This problem happens every few months and greatly slows my productivity. Anyone?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

Download from Software -Utility "HP ENVY 5000 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories" 


3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
