My HP Printer OfficeJet 8015e will not scan with the document feeder. It will scan from the glass - one page at a time.
I have tried turning it on and off and checking for updates as well as troubleshooting to no avail.
Anyone know why it is doing that?

Hi @Lonnalee,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
First, check for paper jams by opening the document feeder cover and removing any stuck paper or debris.
Make sure the paper is loaded correctly by aligning the pages properly in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) and adjusting the guides so they're snug against the paper.
When scanning, ensure "Document Feeder" is selected instead of "Flatbed."
Restart your printer and computer. Turn off the printer and unplug it for 1-2 minutes, then restart your computer or mobile device. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Update or reinstall the HP software. Download and install the latest HP Smart app or Full Feature Software from HP’s website. If already installed, uninstall and reinstall the software.
Run HP Print & Scan Doctor to automatically fix scanning issues.
Reset the printer by unplugging the power cord from the back, waiting 60 seconds, then plugging it back in and turning it on.
Lastly, check the ADF sensor. Open the document feeder lid and gently wipe the rollers and sensors with a lint-free cloth.
Give these steps a try and see if the ADF starts scanning! 😊 Let me know if you need more help.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
