Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended
Color Laser Jet Pro MFP 227dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently the scanner function of my MFP 227dw started producing black pages from a scan.  Everything else works fine.  The purplish light of the scanner is on and this light bar moves across the glass plate.  The output is a solid black page with no variation.  I did a software update today, one that was recommended on HP site. I'm running windows 10

Any ideas?

Thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Does the same happen while copying? Does this happen both with the scanner glass and the feeder?

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  1. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  4. NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  6. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  7. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

If the issue persists, please perform the remaining steps from this document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m227-series/9365384/model/9365386/document/...

Thank you for your Reply.

The same problem also happens when I copy and it happens with the scanner glass and the feeder.

Resetting the printer did not solve the problem.

I am worried that the light is not working at full capacity.  Is there a way to check, or do you know if this is a common problem?

Thank You,

Carla

The result of the reset produced this scan:

Flatbed  glass

Before the reset, both were solid black.

Thanks,
