Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Got crazy overexposure on DeskJet 2720 scanner in color mode (even without auto-enhance). Couldn't find any settings related to scanner calibration. Is there any way to calibrate or should I just return the device?

I have made some tests.. and this is such a disaster result 😳

@Sergium

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Does the copy print out the same way?
  • Have you tried scanning from different applications or devices?

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Resolve scan quality problems on HP printers By the end of the article you will be able to isolate the issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Problem is not print-related. Printer itself performs well, prints gradients without clipping.

The article you referring to is not solving the issue – there's no words about calibration, and this is what this scanner needs.

Yes, I scanned from different devices including iOS, iPadOS, macOS – same result. Reason is obviously in device itself, not software. I use 300dpi, no auto-correction (which while enabled makes result even worse). Greyscale scanning mode performs better and doesn't kill highlights as much, but color mode is absolutely awful!

So my questions remains – is there a calibration method for this device?

Thanks.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This seems like a hardware issue with the printer.
